The Giant Wild Goose Pagoda, also known as the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, stands as an iconic symbol of ancient Xi’an, offering a glimpse into the city’s rich history and Buddhist heritage. Situated in the southern suburb of Xi’an City, approximately 4 kilometers (2.5 miles) from the downtown area, the pagoda is a well-preserved ancient structure and a revered site for Buddhists.

Located within the Da Ci’en Temple complex, the Giant Wild Goose Pagoda draws numerous visitors who come to admire its significance in Buddhist religion and its simple yet captivating architectural style. Recognized as a National Key Cultural Relic Preserve and an AAAA Tourist Attraction, it holds immense cultural and historical value.

In June 2014, the Giant Wild Goose Pagoda, along with other sites along the ancient Silk Road, was added to the prestigious World Heritage List, further cementing its importance on a global scale.

Visitors to the scenic area surrounding the pagoda can explore not only the impressive structure itself but also the Da Ci’en Temple, various squares, gardens, and other facilities. Together, these components create an immersive experience that offers insight into both the religious significance and architectural beauty of the region.
