Referred to with great admiration as the ‘First Spring in the Desert’, Crescent Spring is located at the base of Mingsha Mountain, which is both representative of and named after the Singing Sand Dunes that encompass it. When viewed from a distance, Crescent Spring bears a striking resemblance to the shape of a crescent moon, thus earning its name.

According to a popular legend, the Crescent Spring is known as the ‘Medicinal Spring’ because it is believed to be the home of the Seven Star Grasses, which possess unique healing properties capable of curing complex and challenging diseases, granting those who consume them eternal life.
