Dazu Rock carvings are one of eight famous Buddhist carvings in the world. With a history over 1,300 years, the collection of grottoes and carvings in Dazu contains more than 50.000 statues representing the highest level of grotto art from between the 9th to 13th century during the Tang and Song Dynasties in China. The exquisite and varied cliff-side sculptures at Dazu caves provide outstanding proof of the harmonious fusion of Buddhism, Taoism, and Confucianism in civil. The carvings were made to publicize and show respect to religious figures and showcase everyday life in China. In 1999, the Dazu Rock Carvings was inscribed on the World Heritage List by UNESCO.

Beishan Hill has nearly 300 caves carved into its rocky slopes. Baoding Mountain is home to more than 10,000 cliffside carvings, which all tell a story. Baoding Carvings was constructed by the famous monk Zhao Zhifeng in the Song Dynasty for more than 70 years. Nearly ten thousand statues are carved along the cliffs, which are approximately 500 meters in length and 8-25 meters high. Baodingshan rock carvings is mainly Buddhist scripture stories.

Beishan Carving were first created by Wei Junjing in 892 A.D. ,finished  1162 A.D.  There are over 5,000 statues on a 500m long cliff, with a height of 7 to 10 meters.
