Dali Erhai Lake, nestled in the picturesque surroundings of Dali, stands as a tranquil oasis at an elevation of 1,972 meters above sea level. As the second largest highland lake in Yunnan, following Dianchi Lake, Erhai Lake is celebrated for its pristine waters and enchanting vistas, earning it the moniker “Pearl of the Plateau.” The juxtaposition of the shimmering waters against the backdrop of the majestic Cangshan Mountain has inspired the poetic description “Silver Cangshan Mountain and Jade Erhai Lake.”

Spanning 40 kilometers in length from north to south and approximately 9 kilometers in width from east to west, Erhai Lake boasts a diverse array of landscapes within its bounds. From the iconic “Three Islands” and “Four Continents” to the serene “Five Lakes” and sinuous “Nine Bends,” the lake offers a tapestry of natural wonders to explore.Along its western bank lie notable landmarks such as Dali Old Town, the Three Pagodas of Dali, Xizhou Ancient Town, Zhoucheng, Butterfly Spring, and Shangguan Flower Garden. On the eastern bank, visitors can discover the quaint charms of Shuanglang Old Town, Wase Village, Haidong Village, and more.

With its rich tapestry of natural beauty and cultural heritage, Erhai Lake beckons travelers to immerse themselves in its serene ambiance and explore the treasures that adorn its shores.
