Notably, it holds the distinction of being the Northern Hemisphere’s closest mountain range to the equator. The 13 peaks in this region collectively resemble a jade dragon in repose, inspiring its evocative name. Recognized as a “National AAAAA Tourist Attraction,” this expansive area spans 455 square meters and remains blanketed in white snow throughout the year, providing visitors with a multitude of opportunities for sightseeing, mountaineering, exploration, resort experiences, hiking, and more.

Beyond the majestic view of the 13 snow-capped peaks, visitors can immerse themselves in the ever-changing, rare natural landscapes and delve into the rich cultural heritage of the Dongba people. At an impressive altitude of 5596 meters, Jade Dragon Snow Mountain is hailed as the “Natural Alpine Zoo & Botanical Garden” and the “Present Glaciers Museum.” It boasts a wealth of animal and plant resources, making it an ideal destination to encounter new species previously unseen in one’s life.
