Ping’an Zhuang Village Terraced Fields showcase a breathtaking landscape with a total of 15,862 rice terraces, varying in size from large expanses to tiny plots. Visitors to this area are treated to two distinctive and visually captivating sights:

  1. “Seven Stars Accompany the Moon”: This spectacle features seven small piles of rocks deliberately arranged by locals during the terrace construction, surrounding a moon-shaped terrace in the center. When viewed from a distance, it creates the illusion of “seven shining stars” accompanying the “moon,” forming a picturesque and photogenic scene.
  2. “Nine Dragons and Five Tigers”: This feature consists of nine ridges extending from the main vein of Dragon’s Backbone, resembling nine dragons bending over to drink water from the Jinsha River. Adjacent to these dragon-like formations, there are five rocks shaped like tigers. The combination of dragon and tiger imagery adds a mythical and enchanting element to the landscape.

This area offers not only stunning natural beauty but also opportunities for captivating photography and a deeper connection with the artistry of traditional terrace farming.
