Your private tour guide will pick you up from your hotel at prearranged time, then begin to explore Tian’anmen Square, home to the National Museum of China, and the great Monument to the Peoples’ Heroes. Pass through the south gate to the magnificent 250-acre complex of the Forbidden City. The Forbidden City was the imperial palace from the Ming and Qing Dynasties. It is located in the middle of Beijing, and now houses the Palace Museum. For almost 500 years, it served as the home of emperors and their households, as well as the ceremonial and political center of Chinese government.
Then heading northeast to the 798 art district. On the way you will make a short stop at the iconic “Birds’s Nest” for photos.
Stop at a local restaurant for lunch.
In the afternoon, you will explore the 798 art district. Located in the Dashanzi area, 798 Arts Zone is the site of state-owned factories in 1950s including Factory 798, originally produced electronics. Attracted by the Bauhaus Style buildings and convenient transportation in this tranquil area, artists began to gather to re-make the factory spaces, gradually developing them into galleries, art centers, artists’ studios, design companies, restaurants, and bars. Accompanied by your friendly tour guide, you will walk around this huge area, and feast your eyes on the studios and design companies.
Complete your tour at one of the many cafés or restaurants, your can spend more time to explore the area on your own or you will be transferred back to your hotel in Beijing city.
