Mutianyu Great Wall and Ming Tombs Day Tour

From June 2014, Mutianyu Section of the Wall start to use their new entrance ,from there everyone have to walk around 5 minutes through the market to the shuttle bus, and take their shuttle bus to the foot of the Great Wall. This will waste at least half an hour on the road, so if you want the tour more relax please choose the Mutianyu Great Wall Day Tour, combine two sites in one day only allow tourists to spend certain time at each site.

Depart your hotel at 8:30am
On the way to The Mutianyu Great Wall, if traffic allows, stop to photograph the iconic “Bird’s Nest“– the Beijing National Stadium–host to many spectacular events of the 2008 Summer Olympics.
Once arrive at the The Mutianyu Great Wall,you’ll enjoy a less hurried experience and take time to marvel at this wondrous structure and the surrounding hillsides that look north toward Mongolia.The Great Wall at Mutianyu was built and restored in the early Ming Dynasty (1368 – 1644), on the remnants of a Wall originally built in the Northern Qi Dynasty (550-577). Reconstruction took place under the supervision of Xu Da, one of the founding generals of the Ming Dynasty, who was responsible for building a Wall from Shanhaiguan in the east to as far as Mutianyu. The Ming pass at Mutianyu was officially proclaimed in 1404, where is would serve as an important symbol of protection from marauding nomads to the north.
Stop at a Local Restaurant for lunch
Then Visit the  Ming tombs — Dingling.Dingling was built in 1590. Emperor Shen Zong and the empress were buried there in 1620. After it was built, the underground palace was covered with deep soil. The people in charge of the tomb construction and later burial of the imperials erected the tablet as a sign for relocating the underground palace when needed.
Return to hotel around 6pm
