Your friendly guide will pick you up from your downtown Beijing hotel lobby at 8:30am, and head up to Lama Temple, the only temple in Beijing with its own subway stop. Lama Temple (Yonghegong) was built in 1694, and it is now the largest and best-preserved Lamasery of Yellow Sect in Beijing.
Continue to the Beijing South Cathedral(Beijing Xuanwumen Church), built in 1601 during the Ming Dynasty to house foreign Jesuits. The Italian Jesuit Matteo Ricci lived there when he came to Beijing. Unlike other churches, the South Cathedral adopts a gate in traditional Chinese style.
Take a short break for lunch in the local restaurant.
In the afternoon, visit the Niujie Mosque, the largest of all the mosques in Beijing. It was first built in 996 during the Liao Dynasty. The local Muslim community built the mosque by using the traditional Chinese architecture. It was destroyed by armies of Genghis Khan in 1215, and the Mosque was rebuilt in 1443 in the Ming Dynasty.
Your last stop will be the White Cloud Temple(Baiyun Taoist Temple), the largest and oldest Taoist temples in China. It is also the birthplace of Chinese Taoist Association.
After your tour is finished, you will be transferred back to your centrally located hotel in Beijing.
