Your guide and private vehicle will pick you up at 9:00am from your hotel in Beijing. Your first destination is the Beijing Zoo.
As the home for 14,500 animals, the zoo was founded in 1906 during the late Qing dynasty. Like many of Beijing’s parks, the zoo’s grounds resemble classical Chinese gardens, with flower beds amidst natural scenery. Accompanied by your tour guide, you will see the cute pandas, and many other animals.
Next, visit the Summer Palace. Renowned for its beautiful landscape and spectacular architecture, the Summer Palace has been listed in the World Heritage Sites and considered as one of the most classical gardens of the world. Follow your tour guide to learn the related history of this palace and admire the harmonious design of Chinese garden landscapes.
Then, you will head to the Drum and Bell towers. Stop at a local restaurant for a delicious Chinese lunch. Then move to the The Bell and Drum Towers, the central timepieces for Beijing in Ming and Qing Dynasties, with the bells beaten in the morning and the drums beaten at night. The sound would spread for miles in previous years. When visiting, you can climb onto the drum tower to have a birds-eye view to admire the entire city, and watch the activity of knocking the drum performances.
Afterward, go to the old Beijing Hutong Street to take the fun rickshaw to explore the local allays and communities. A trip through the Hutongs will give you a glimpse of authentic Chinese life. And one of the most fun way to see this is with a rickshaw ride.
At the end of the trip you are free for personal exploration or your guide will drive you back to your Beijing city hotel.
