Xingping, situated in the northeast of Yangshuo County, Guilin, is located 25 kilometers away from the county town. It is important to note that it differs from the Xingping Town in Shaanxi Province. Renowned for its abundant historic relics and stunning karst landscapes, Xingping is a highly recommended destination that offers a blend of cultural and natural attractions.

Visitors to Xingping can enjoy leisurely strolls along its ancient streets, admiring the well-preserved buildings and immersing themselves in the local culture. While Xingping shares some similarities with the bustling West Street in Yangshuo, it offers a quieter and more serene atmosphere, making it an ideal escape from the crowds. The ancient street is lined with buildings adorned with various aged bricks and tiles, offering a glimpse into the town’s rich history.

On the southeast side of the ancient street lies the site of Xingping County Town, where remnants of the city wall and ancient tiles serve as reminders of the town’s storied past. Despite its historical significance, the once bustling county town now exudes a quaint and tranquil charm, providing visitors with a glimpse into the historical vicissitudes of the ancient town spanning more than 1,730 years.

Xingping Fishing Village, once an ordinary locale like many other small villages along the Li River, gained international recognition in 1998 when Former US President Bill Clinton and his wife Hillary Clinton visited Guilin. During their Li River Cruise from Guilin to Yangshuo, the boat made a stop at Xingping Town, where the Clintons visited the fishing village and praised its simple and authentic charm.

Since then, Xingping Fishing Village has become a popular destination visited by numerous tourists seeking to experience the sights and sounds of the Li River.
