10-Day Xinjiang Exploration Tour (Urumqi Departure)

Day 1: Arrival in Urumqi

Touch down in Urumqi, known as the “hometown of song and dance.” You’ll be transferred to your hotel, and the rest of the day is free for you to explore the city at your own pace.

Day 2: Urumqi → S21 Desert Highway → Sea Devil City → Ulungu Lake → Beitun

Start with a drive along the S21 Desert Highway. First stop: Sea Devil City—a one-of-a-kind Yadan landform that looks like a cluster of floating castles. Later, make a stop at Ulungu Lake before continuing to Beitun for the night.

Day 3: Beitun → Ahe Highway → Hemu Village

Take a scenic drive via the Ahe Highway to Hemu Village—dubbed “China’s No. 1 Village,” it’s dotted with wooden houses and surrounded by rivers and mountain views. An optional free photo shoot is available, including traditional outfits and light makeup.

Day 4: Hemu → Kanas → Colorful Beach → Burjin

Visit iconic spots around Kanas: Kanas Lake, Wolong Bay, and Fairy Bay. Then drive to Colorful Beach—a stunning 4A-level scenic area famous for its unique rock formations. End the day in Burjin.

Day 5: Burjin → World Devil City → Kuitun

Explore World Devil City (Karamay)—a surreal Yadan landscape with otherworldly rock shapes. After sightseeing, drive to Kuitun for an overnight stay.

Day 6: Kuitun → Duku Highway → Mengkert Ancient Road → Narati Grassland

Take a scenic drive along the renowned Duku Highway, with a stop at Tangbra Hundred-Mile Gallery—a picturesque valley filled with natural beauty. Later, explore Narati Grassland—a vast alpine meadow dotted with wildflowers.

Day 7: Narati → Kurdening (Spruce Paradise) → Yining

Discover Kurdening Scenic Area, home to China’s largest spruce forest (earning it the nickname “Spruce Paradise”). Afterward, drive to Yining for the night.

Day 8: Yining → Sayram Lake → Kuitun

Visit Sayram Lake—hailed as China’s most beautiful alpine lake. Make a stop at Guozigou Bridge to admire the views before heading back to Kuitun for an overnight stay.

Day 9: Kuitun → Anjihai Grand Canyon → S101 Danxia → Urumqi

Explore two natural wonders: Anjihai Grand Canyon (with its dramatic gorges) and S101 Danxia (vibrant, colorful rock formations). In the evening, watch Thousand Times Western Regions—a grand cultural performance showcasing local traditions.

Day 10: Departure from Urumqi
