Wander through its halls and courtyards with your guide, admiring the 1,400-year-old artworks while learning about their historical backgrounds and the development of Buddhism in China.     After enjoying lunch at a local restaurant, you’ll travel to Qiao Family Compound.
    This grand estate was once the home of Qiao Zhiyong, the third-generation leader of the Qiao clan – a prominent Shanxi commercial dynasty that amassed wealth through banks, pawnshops, and teahouses.
    The compound comprises 6 main courtyards, 20 smaller courtyards, and a total of 313 rooms. Follow your guide to the pavilion for a bird’s-eye view of the entire complex. Then, wander through the courtyards and halls to appreciate the elegant Qing Dynasty architecture and intricate brick carvings, which depict figures, literary allusions, flowers, birds, beasts, and calligraphic art.
    Once the tour concludes, you’ll be transferred back to your hotel in Pingyao.
