    Start your day at Chen Clan Temple (also known as Chen Clan Ancestral Hall), a grand Qing Dynasty building famous for its detailed carvings in wood, brick, stone, clay, and ivory. Inside, you’ll also find precious collections of silk embroidery, ceramics, and paintings—all of which offer a deep dive into Lingnan’s culture, history, and traditions.
    Next, make your way to Yuexiu Park, Guangzhou’s largest park. Take a relaxed stroll through its dense greenery and past historic relics: don’t miss the Five Ram Statue (a symbol of Guangzhou), the ancient Ming Dynasty city wall, and the Sun Yat-sen Monument. It’s a great chance to soak in the park’s beauty and get a feel for local life in southern China.
    Then head to the Huacheng area to take in modern Guangzhou’s skyline. Here, you’ll marvel at contemporary skyscrapers like Canton Tower, the IFC buildings, Guangzhou Opera House, and Guangdong Museum. If the weather is good, you can choose to go up Canton Tower’s observation deck for a breathtaking panoramic view of the whole city.
    After that, visit the Museum of the Western Han Dynasty Mausoleum of the Nanyue King—a must-visit if you want to understand Guangzhou’s ancient history. The museum displays the 2,000-year-old tomb of King Zhao Mo, along with a range of artifacts, giving you a complete look at the culture and history of that era.
    If time allows, explore Shamian Island, which was once a British and French concession. This area is known for its well-preserved colonial mansions and architecture, and it’s one of the most elegant spots along the Pearl River.
