1-Day Mt. Huangshan Tour Itinerary

Start

1. Assembly at Huangshan International Hotel

• Stop Duration: 30 minutes
• Time: 7:30–8:00 AM
• Details: Gather at Huangshan International Hotel (Address: No. 31 Huangshan Road, Tunxi District, Huangshan City). Please arrange your own transportation to the hotel in advance. Your guide will wait for you in the hotel lobby.

2. Transfer to Huangshan UNESCO Global Geopark

• Stop Duration: 90 minutes (Admission included)
• Time: 8:00–9:30 AM
• Details: Led by your guide, take a car/van to Huangshan Scenic Area Transfer Center (approximately a 1-hour drive). Then, board a scenic shuttle bus to Yungu Cableway Station (about a 30-minute drive).

3. Yungu Temple & Cableway Ascent

• Stop Duration: 10 minutes (Admission excluded) + Cableway Ride
• Time: 9:30–9:50 AM
• Details: Take the Yungu Cableway from Yungu Temple up to White Goose Ridge. The one-way cableway fee is approximately $12 per person (at your own expense). We highly recommend the cableway—it saves energy and time.
  As one of Mt. Huangshan’s most scenic cable routes, the ride lets you enjoy views of Tendu Peak, Lotus Peak, Buddha’s Palm Peak, Magpie Perching on Plum Blossom, Immortal Turning the Table, Gourd Stone, and Sheep Crossing the River. Gliding through clouds and mist, you’ll feel like wandering in a earthly fairyland, with stunning scenery as far as the eye can see.

4. Explore White Goose Peak

• Stop Duration: 30 minutes
• Details: Visit White Goose Peak, which offers excellent views of the East Sea of Clouds.

5. Shixin Peak (Begin to Believe Peak)

• Stop Duration: 15 minutes
• Details: Explore Shixin Peak, located east of Flower-Scattering Valley in the Beihai Scenic Area. This spot provides a spectacular view of Mt. Huangshan’s granite peaks. You’ll also see the majestic Black Tiger Pine—one of Huangshan’s top 10 famous pines, estimated to be 700 years old.
  Legend has it that long ago, a monk meditating in Huangshan spotted a black tiger crouching atop a large pine tree. When he looked closer, the tiger had vanished—so he named the tree “Black Tiger Pine.”

6. Dreamed Pen of Fine Essays (Bi Sheng Hua)

• Stop Duration: 15 minutes
• Details: Visit Bishenghua, one of Mt. Huangshan’s most famous spots. It features a uniquely shaped rock with a pine tree growing on top; the rock resembles the tip of a Chinese calligraphy brush.

7. Explore Lion Peak

• Stop Duration: 30 minutes
• Details: Wander Lion Peak, renowned for its sunrise views. Here, you’ll also see the classic “Stone Monkey Gazing over the Sea of Clouds” scene.

8. Descend the Mountain & Return to Huangshan City

• First Stop (Descent): 30 minutes (Yungu Temple)
  • Time: 2:30 PM
  • Details: Begin descending the mountain—either on foot or via the Yungu Cableway (fee at your own expense).
• Second Stop (Return Transfer): 60 minutes
  • Time: 4:00–5:00 PM
  • Details: Transfer back to Huangshan City. Your day of mountain adventure ends on a high note!
