    From Shanghai: Hangzhou Private Day Trip by Bullet Train

Roundtrip bullet train transfers from Shanghai are included, along with comprehensive service that takes the stress out of travel. Marvel at the poetic landscapes that have inspired poets for centuries and get a taste of local culture through intimate encounters with Hangzhou’s natural and historical treasures.

    Itinerary Quick Look

    Your Shanghai-based driver will meet you in your hotel lobby (departure time and train tickets will be confirmed once you finalize the tour, with further details to be discussed via email or WhatsApp). From there, you’ll be transferred to Shanghai Hongqiao High-Speed Railway Station. No physical ticket or QR code is needed—simply scan your passport to board the morning bullet train to Hangzhou, as your passport number serves as your ticket.
    Upon arrival in Hangzhou, your local guide will greet you at the train station exit. Your first stop is West Lake, Hangzhou’s most iconic landmark, celebrated worldwide for its stunning scenery. As you stroll along the lakeshore, admire the picturesque pavilions, pagodas, and embankments, while your guide shares the beloved folk tale The Legend of the White Snake. You’ll then have the option to take a scenic cruise or a small boat on the lake to relax and soak in the views. Next, visit Huagang Park (“Fish Viewing at the Flower Pond”), one of the “Ten Scenes of West Lake”—a must-see spot to enjoy watching the fish.
    Your second stop is the Longjing tea plantations, famous for China’s renowned Longjing green tea. Here, you’ll savor a local lunch accompanied by a tea-tasting experience. Wander through the lush, emerald tea fields, learn about the intricate tea cultivation process from knowledgeable locals (with your private guide translating), and immerse yourself in the serene surroundings.
    The final destination is either Lingyin Temple or Huxueyan’s Former Residence. Lingyin Temple, situated in Feilaifeng Scenic Area, is one of China’s top ten ancient Buddhist monasteries—large, affluent, and home to numerous pagodas and Buddhist grottoes. Along the path to the temple, you’ll encounter countless grottoes and religious rock carvings. Alternatively, Huxueyan’s Former Residence offers insight into the legendary life of this famous Qing Dynasty merchant.
    After completing your Hangzhou tour, you’ll be transferred to Hangzhou East Railway Station for the 1-hour bullet train back to Shanghai. Upon arrival at Shanghai Hongqiao Station, a Chinese-speaking driver will meet you at the exit and transfer you back to your downtown Shanghai hotel, marking the end of your trip.
