Then, travel to Helan Mountain, a historic homeland of ancient northern Chinese minorities including the Huns, Xianbei, Tujue, and Uighurs. For 3,000 to 10,000 years, these communities carved scenes of their daily lives onto the mountain’s stones, reflecting their aesthetic tastes, social customs, and lifestyles – over 20 rock art sites have been discovered here.
