    Day 1: Arrival in Hailar

    Upon your arrival, you’ll be greeted with a convenient airport pickup and transferred to your pre-arranged hotel to settle in and rest, preparing for the adventures ahead.

    Day 2: Hailar → Genhe (263km / 4hrs) | Erguna Wetlands & Aoluguya Reindeer Tribe

    Kick off your journey with a 2.5-hour drive to Erguna Wetlands—one of Asia’s largest wetland reserves. Board a sightseeing bus to the 720-meter-high viewing platform, where you’ll be rewarded with sweeping panoramic views of the vast wetland landscape. Meander down the mountain via the plank road, keeping an eye out for playful squirrels darting through the scenery.
    Next, continue to Aoluguya, home to the Ewenki people—a community that migrated from Lake Baikal to this “land of lush poplar forests” in the mid-17th century. Known as China’s last hunting tribe, they have lived in harmony with reindeer for generations. Here, you’ll get up close to these gentle creatures, feeding them and learning about the Ewenki’s unique way of life.

    Day 3: Genhe → Moerdaoga National Forest Park → Shiwei (206km / 3.5hrs)

    Drive through breathtaking autumn forests ablaze with vibrant colors, arriving at Moerdaoga National Forest Park. Hop aboard the park’s scenic train for a memorable journey across the Greater Khingan Mountain Range (Daxinganling), soaking in the pristine forest vistas.
    Continue onward to Shiwei—a one-of-a-kind Sino-Russian border town unlike any other. Stroll along the banks of the Erguna River, savor authentic Mongolian milk tea, and gaze across the water at the charming Russian villages just beyond the border. Tonight, you’ll stay in a Mukeleng—a traditional Russian-style log cabin—for a unique cultural experience.

    Day 4: Shiwei → Heishantou (194km / 3hrs) | Sino-Russian Family Visit, Herder’s Homestay & Bonfire Party

    En route to Heishantou, stop at a Sino-Russian family home to immerse yourself in their blended culture. Learn about their unique customs, enjoy ethnic performances, and try your hand at decorating Russian-style colored eggs.
    Upon arriving in Heishantou, visit a nomadic Mongolian herder family for an authentic taste of pastoral life. Help prepare Mongolian milk tea, sample homemade dairy products, feed the sheep, and even dress up in traditional Mongolian attire. Later, embark on a 40-minute hike to the mountain top to witness a stunning sunset over the grasslands (horse riding is available at an additional cost). After dinner, join a lively bonfire party under the stars, dancing and celebrating with locals. Tonight’s accommodation is at a Mongolian camp.

    Day 5: Heishantou → Manzhouli (210km / 4hrs) | Matryoshka Square

    After breakfast, journey to Manzhouli—a vibrant border city nestled between China and Russia. Visit Matryoshka Square (also known as Russian Taowa Square), famous for its collection of giant matryoshka dolls. The centerpiece is a towering 30-meter-tall doll that houses an actual hotel—an iconic photo spot not to be missed!

    Day 6: Manzhouli → Hulun Lake → Hulunbuir Nationality Museum → Hailar Airport Departure (250km / 4hrs)

    Start your final day with a 1-hour drive to Hulun Lake, one of China’s five largest freshwater lakes. Take in the serene beauty of the lake and its surrounding grasslands before heading to the Hulunbuir Nationality Museum. Explore its fascinating exhibits, which include precious relics spanning from the Paleolithic Age to the era of Genghis Khan, offering deep insights into the region’s rich history and diverse cultures.
    From the museum, it’s just a 15-minute drive to Hailar Airport, where your unforgettable 6-day Hulunbuir adventure comes to an end.
