It commemorates the profound friendship between the musician Yu Boya and his loyal listener Zhong Ziqi during the Spring and Autumn Period (770–476 B.C.), offering a tranquil setting to reflect on their legendary bond.

  • Transfer to Wudangshan: After the tour, you’ll be escorted to the train station to board a high-speed train (approximately 2–3 hours) to Wudangshan. Upon arrival, a local guide will greet you at the station and transfer you to your hotel in Wudangshan. The rest of the day is free for you to wander and uncover the mysteries of China’s No.1 Taoist Mountain at your own leisure.

Day 4: Wudangshan Taoist Heritage Full-Day Tour (B)

Explore well-preserved ancient structures and ruins, including 1,036-meter-long palace walls, two stele pavilions, the foundations of five inner-city halls, and Qing Dynasty-rebuilt halls (Father and Mother Hall, Cloud Hall) alongside the ruins of the Eastern, Western, and Northern Heaven Gates—all exuding profound historical charm.
• Afternoon:
  • Prince Slope (Fuzhen Guan): Take a sightseeing bus to this temple, originally built in 1412 during the Ming Dynasty (1368–1644). Legend has it that the Prince of Jingle State cultivated Taoism here, giving the site its name. Wander the winding path to the “Pond of Tears” (linked to a poignant tale) and marvel at the architectural wonder of the Five-story Tower.
  • Needle-Grinding Well: Visit the site where Zhen Wu (Wudang’s patron deity) overcame self-doubt before attaining divinity. Learn the story of “grinding an iron rod into a needle”—a parable that inspired Zhen Wu to persist in his Taoist practice and ascetic lifestyle.

  • Purple Cloud Palace (Zixiao Palace): Conclude the day at one of Wudang’s best-preserved palaces, featuring 9 buildings and 182 rooms. Day 5: Wudangshan Peaks, Valleys & Departure (B)

• Itinerary: Qiongtai Palace → Golden Palace (Jin Ding) → Carefree Valley (Xiaoyao Valley) → Wudang Museum → Departure

  • Qiongtai Palace: After breakfast, board a sightseeing bus to this major Taoist temple (altitude: 1,350 meters)—the starting point of Wudang’s cable car.
  • Golden Palace (Jin Ding): Take the cable car to Tianzhu Peak (1,612 meters), Wudang’s highest peak, then hike a short distance to the Golden Palace. Built in 1416 during the Ming Dynasty, this is China’s largest surviving brass-cast building and Wudang’s iconic symbol. Stand atop the peak for panoramic views of the sacred mountain, hidden temples, sea of clouds, lush forests, and rocky landscapes—truly a “heaven on earth.”
