How to buy tickets to the Old Summer Palace Beijing?

1. Highly recommended to use an official channel or trusted ticket agency to help with the booking, which saves time and avoids troubles.

2.Official channels include the WeChat Mini Program “Yuanmingyuan Museum Tickets” and the official WeChat public account “Old Summer Palace”.

3. Tickets can be booked in advance or bought on site; on-site ticket sales are available at multiple gates, with sufficient tickets for most dates

Do I need to book a ticket to Old Summer Palace in advance?

Yes, advance booking is not mandatory. Tickets can be booked 6 days in advance via official channels, and on-site purchase is also available. Please book as early as possible, especially during weekends, peak seasons (April–October) and holidays, to avoid on-site queuing.

Can I buy a ticket on the spot upon arrival?

Same-day on-site tickets are generally available.

Old Summer Palace mainly sells tickets via on-site windows and online channels. On-site ticket windows are set at Qichun Garden Gate, Changchun Garden East Gate, Second Gate and Zaoyuan Gate, with sufficient walk-up tickets for most dates, except for peak holidays.

You can buy tickets directly at the on-site windows without advance reservation, but queuing may be required during peak hours.

Is there any place in Old Summer Palace to deposit luggage?

Old Summer Palace provides paid luggage storage inside the scenic area.

You may use luggage storage services in the following ways:

(1) Luggage storage at the South Gate and East Gate: Commercial lockers are available, with charging standards of 5 yuan/hour for small lockers, 6 yuan/hour for medium lockers and 7 yuan/hour for large lockers.

(2) Old Summer Palace Subway Station: Luggage storage service is available near the station exits.

(3) Shops and service points around Old Summer Palace: Provide paid luggage deposit for tourists; the luggage storage point is about 500 meters away from the entrance.
