Day 1 Beijing City Tour | Tian’anmen Square, Forbidden City, Old Hutongs
Meet your tour guide first. Kick off your journey at Tian’anmen Square, one of the world’s largest public squares. Cross the south gate to enter the Forbidden City, a 600-year-old imperial palace and UNESCO World Heritage Site. Follow your guide through its courtyards and halls. Learn fascinating stories behind this majestic complex.
Grab lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, head to Lama Temple, one of the world’s largest Tibetan Buddhist monasteries with a Qing Dynasty history.
In the evening, enjoy a Chinese cultural show. Choose from acrobatics, kung fu, or Peking Opera (cost at your own expense). After the show, your driver will send you to your preferred Beijing location.
Day 2 Beijing Great Wall Tour | Mutianyu Great Wall, Bird’s Nest & Water Cube
Meet your guide and set off for Mutianyu Great Wall. This less-crowded section offers tranquil views of the wall winding over lush hills. Hike for 1.5 hours. Explore watchtowers and beacon towers. Capture stunning photos of the scenery.
Enjoy lunch at a local eatery. Make a photo stop at the Bird’s Nest, the iconic venue of the 2008 Summer Olympics.
Continue to the Drum Tower area. Stroll through traditional hutong neighborhoods. Interact with locals to experience authentic Beijing life. Optionally explore Houhai Lake and Nanluoguxiang Hutong alleys. At day’s end, your driver will drop you off in Beijing.
Day 3 Beijing Temple of Heaven | High-Speed Train to Xi’an
Start at the Temple of Heaven, a UNESCO site where Ming and Qing emperors prayed for harvests. Visit key spots like the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvest and Danbi Bridge. See the centuries-old Nine-Dragon Juniper.
Head to the pearl market for souvenirs. Your guide will share bargaining tips. Visit the Beijing Panda House to see giant pandas up close. Enjoy a Peking duck lunch at a local restaurant.
In the afternoon, explore the Summer Palace. It is a well-preserved royal garden and one of China’s most classical garden masterpieces.
After the tour, take a high-speed train to Xi’an (4.5–5.5 hours). Upon arrival, a local guide and driver will greet you. They will transfer you to your preferred Xi’an location.
Day 4 Xi’an City Tour | Terracotta Warriors, Ancient Wall, Muslim Quarter
The Museum of Qin Terra-Cotta Warriors and Horses
Meet your guide at the agreed point. Head straight to the Terracotta Warriors Museum, hailed as the “Eighth Wonder of the World”. It was discovered by farmers drilling a well in 1974. Your guide will share historical stories on the way. Explore the three main pits with life-sized, unique terracotta soldiers.
Xi’an City Wall (Chengqiang)
Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. Visit the Xi’an City Wall if time permits. This 600-year-old structure is one of China’s best-preserved ancient city walls. Climb to the top for panoramic city views.
Muslim Quarter
If you have extra time, your guide will take you to Xi’an’s Muslim Quarter. It is a vibrant hub of local snacks, handicrafts, and Islamic culture.
Day 5 Shaanxi History Museum | High-Speed Train to Chengdu
Meet your guide and driver in the morning. Visit Shaanxi History Museum, known as “the Pearl of Ancient Dynasties”. It houses 130,000 artifacts spanning thousands of years of Chinese history. Afterward, stop by the Giant Wild Goose Pagoda, a Tang Dynasty landmark storing Buddhist scriptures.
After the tour, take a high-speed train to Chengdu (3.5–4 hours). A local guide will greet you at the station. Transfer to your preferred downtown location. Spend the rest of the day freely. Don’t miss Sichuan hotpot or Sichuan Opera in the evening.
Day 6 Chengdu Classic Tour | Chengdu Panda Base, Jinli Old Street
Giant Panda Breeding Research Base (Xiongmao Jidi)
Meet your guide at the agreed downtown spot. Take an air-conditioned vehicle to the Panda Base. Observe pandas of all ages—cubs, juveniles, and adults. Watch them munch bamboo or lounge. Explore research labs, museums, and playgrounds. Learn about panda conservation. Snap photos of these adorable endangered animals.
Wenshu Yuan Monastery
Head back to the city. Your guide will introduce Chengdu’s landmarks and hidden gems. Customize your itinerary based on interests. A typical stop is Wenshu Yuan Monastery, the city’s best-preserved Buddhist temple. It has housed statues and celebrity art since the Tang Dynasty. Stroll peaceful courtyards. Watch locals pray with incense. Admire gardens and solemn halls.
Wuhou Memorial Temple
Next, visit Wuhou Memorial Temple, built in the 6th century. It honors Shu Kingdom Emperor Liu Bei and Prime Minister Zhuge Liang. Explore key buildings like Liu Bei’s Temple and Tomb.
Kuanzhai Alley
Continue to Kuanzhai Alley, a lively district with traditional Chinese architecture. Wander lanes to experience local folk culture. Check out Well Alley for Chengdu’s modern vibe.
Songxianqiao Curio Art City
Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. Explore Songxianqiao Curio Art City for souvenirs. Your guide will teach you bargaining skills.
Chengdu Renmin Park
Wrap up with a stroll through Renmin Park. Join locals for square dancing or music. Sit with a cup of tea to savor Chengdu’s slow pace.
Optional: Jinli Pedestrian Street & Other Spots
If you’ve visited the above, discuss alternatives with your guide. Options include Jinli Pedestrian Street, Chengdu Museum, or a local market visit. Your driver will drop you off at your preferred Chengdu location.
Day 7 Chengdu to Guilin | Free Morning & Flight Transfer
After breakfast, explore Chengdu freely. Your guide and driver will escort you to the airport for your flight to Guilin (2.5 hours). Upon arrival, a local guide will greet you. Transfer to your preferred downtown location. Recommended leisure activities: walk Binjiang Road or taste Guilin rice noodles.
Day 8 Guilin to Yangshuo Tour | Li River Cruise, Yangshuo Countryside, West Street
Your guide and driver will pick you up at 8:00 am. Transfer to Zhujiang Pier to board a 4-star Li River Cruise. It includes premium facilities and a buffet lunch.
Sail for about 4 hours (duration varies by weather and water levels). Feast your eyes on karst peaks, clear waters, and pastoral villages. Your guide will share fairy tales and love legends about the landmarks.
Arrive in Yangshuo around 1:30 pm. Stroll West Street, a vibrant pedestrian road with shops, galleries, and cafes. Your guide will help you bargain for souvenirs.
Choose your flexible afternoon activity with your guide:
- Walk or cycle Yangshuo’s countryside for quiet, untouched nature.
- Explore Ten-Mile Gallery, a picturesque road like a living Chinese painting.
- Stop at Moon Hill for photos of its iconic arch peak.

At day’s end, transfer back to Guilin. Or ask your guide in advance to go to your Yangshuo accommodation.
Day 9 Guilin to Shanghai | Elephant Trunk Hill, Reed Flute Cave & Flight Transfer
Meet your guide at your Guilin spot. Discuss interests for a customized itinerary, or follow the sample route.
Start with Elephant Trunk Hill, Guilin’s iconic landmark popular since the Tang Dynasty. It looks like an elephant drinking from the Li River.
Next, visit Fubo Hill beside the Li River. Explore caves with Tang and Song Dynasty Buddha carvings. See the Sword-Testing Rock and hear its legend.
Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. Head to Reed Flute Cave, a magical underground world carved by dripping water over millions of years. It has 77 Tang Dynasty poems on its walls.
Stroll through Seven Stars Park, popular since Sui and Tang Dynasties. It has the oldest bridge in Guilin.
After the tour, transfer to the airport for your flight to Shanghai (2.5 hours). A local guide will greet you. Transfer to your preferred downtown location. The rest of the day is free to explore.
Day 10 Shanghai City Tour | Zhujiajiao Ancient Town, Yu Garden, The Bund & Shanghai Tower
Zhujiajiao Ancient Town
Meet your guide and drive 1 hour to Zhujiajiao Ancient Town, called “Shanghai’s Venice”. This 1,700-year-old water town offers a peaceful escape from city hustle. Wander Beidajie Street’s century-old buildings. Explore Kezhi Garden, a blend of Chinese and Western architecture. Pass by Chenghuangmiao Temple to see the Goddess of Mercy. Visit a Qing Dynasty post office with antique letters. Snap photos of iconic bridges. End with a relaxing canal boat ride.
Yu Garden (Yuyuan) / Jade Buddha Temple
Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. Return to downtown to visit Yu Garden, Shanghai’s largest ancient Ming-Qing garden. Learn about traditional garden design. Wander the nearby Old City God Temple snack streets. Note: If Yu Garden is closed on Monday, visit Jade Buddha Temple instead, home to 19th-century Burmese jade Buddhas.
The Bund & Shanghai Tower
Head to The Bund, Shanghai’s iconic waterfront. Marvel at colonial buildings and modern skyscrapers like the Oriental Pearl TV Tower. Take memorable photos.
Continue to Shanghai Tower, China’s tallest building. Take a high-speed elevator to the observatory for 360° city views. If you’ve visited these spots, discuss alternatives with your guide. Your driver will drop you off at your preferred Shanghai location.
Day 11 Shanghai Departure | Free Time & Airport Transfer
