    This 12-day China-Tibet-Nepal Tour offers an all-inclusive journey that weaves through 9 UNESCO World Heritage Sites, spanning from Beijing and Lhasa to Kathmandu—with the added wonders of Mount Everest views and an iconic ride on the Qinghai-Tibet Railway.
    Kick off your adventure in Beijing, where you’ll explore the imperial grandeur of the Forbidden City and the awe-inspiring Great Wall, immersing yourself in the capital’s rich historical legacy while soaking up its dynamic modern charm. Next, board a train to Xining, where you’ll transfer to the world-famous Qinghai-Tibet Railway, treating your eyes to the breathtaking, unspoiled landscapes of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau as you journey onward.
    Upon reaching Lhasa, delve into the city’s ancient spiritual treasures before embarking on an overland expedition westward—taking in Mount Everest’s majestic peak, crossing the Girong Border, and ultimately arriving in Kathmandu.     Day 1: Arrival in Beijing

    Welcome to Beijing! Upon your arrival at either Beijing Capital International Airport or Beijing Daxing International Airport, our local guide will greet you and accompany you to your downtown hotel. After checking in, feel free to rest and recharge or explore the area at your own pace.
    Optional Activities: Make the most of your free time by wandering through Beijing’s historic Hutongs—traditional alleyways that offer a glimpse into old Beijing life. Top recommendations include Nanluoguxiang, Yandaixiejie, Mao’er Hutong, and Bada Hutong, where you can soak up authentic local charm.
    Travel Tip: Please confirm which Beijing airport you’ll be arriving at prior to your trip to ensure a smooth pickup.

    Day 2: Beijing Tour – Badaling Great Wall & Ming Tomb (B, L)

    Kick off the morning with a visit to the Badaling section of the Great Wall—one of the world’s most iconic wonders. This well-preserved segment offers breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding mountains, allowing you to immerse yourself in China’s rich historical legacy as you hike along the ancient stone walls.
    Afterward, enjoy a delicious lunch followed by a stop at the renowned Beijing Jade Factory. Here, you can browse exquisite jade crafts, learn about traditional Chinese craftsmanship, and pick up unique souvenirs.
    In the afternoon, explore the Ming Tomb—a UNESCO World Heritage Site built in 1590 during the Ming Dynasty. Serving as the final resting place of Emperor Shenzong and his queen, this grand mausoleum spans 100,000 square meters and showcases the classic layout of imperial tombs from the era. Don’t miss the chance to venture into the underground palaces for an up-close look at this historical marvel.

    Day 3: Beijing Tour – Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City & Overnight Train to Xining (B)

    After breakfast, your guide will pick you up from the hotel and head to Tiananmen Square—the world’s largest urban square. Explore iconic landmarks within the square, including Tiananmen Tower, the Monument to the People’s Heroes, the Great Hall of the People, and Chairman Mao’s Mausoleum.
    Next, step into the awe-inspiring Forbidden City, a 500-year-old imperial palace that served as the residence of 24 Chinese emperors. With over 9,000 rooms (though only a portion is open to the public), you’ll gain insight into how ancient emperors governed the country and lived their daily lives.
    Following the tour, you’ll be transferred to the railway station to board an overnight train to Xining. The journey takes approximately 22 hours, and you’ll spend the night on the train, arriving in Xining the next day.

    Day 4: Arrival in Xining & Transfer to Tibet Train (Lhasa Bound)

    Upon arriving in Xining, our local guide will greet you at the railway station. After a short rest and a chance to explore the city at your leisure, you’ll be transferred to Xining Railway Station for your overnight train to Lhasa. Please arrive at least 1 hour before departure, as you’ll need to present your passport and Tibet Travel Permit to board.

    Tibet Permit Notice

    1. We will handle the application for your Tibet Travel Permit once you book the tour with us.
    2. To ensure a smooth process, please submit all required documents at least 20 days prior to your trip.
    3. Your travel permit will be delivered to you before the train departs—please keep it in a safe place throughout your journey.

    Tibet Train Travel Tips

    1. Your package includes a soft sleeper ticket for the Xining-Lhasa route.
    2. The train features a dining car serving simple Chinese dishes. We recommend bringing snacks or instant noodles for additional options.
    3. All trains to Tibet are equipped with oxygen supply systems, so there’s no need to worry about altitude sickness during the journey.

    Day 5: Qinghai-Tibet Railway Scenery & Arrival in Lhasa

    Today, you’ll experience the unparalleled beauty of the Qinghai-Tibet Railway—one of the world’s most spectacular rail journeys. As the train travels toward Nagchu, you’ll pass the iconic Tanggula Pass, seamlessly blending into the vast highland landscape. Keep an eye out for local villagers waving at the train and yaks darting across the tracks, while snow-capped mountain ranges with glistening glaciers unfold on the horizon at every turn.
    Upon arriving in Lhasa, our local guide will greet you at the railway station and transfer you to your downtown hotel. Along the way, admire the scenic vistas of the Yarlung Tsangpo River, Lhasa River, and traditional Tibetan villages.
    After checking into your hotel, take ample time to rest and acclimatize to the high altitude. It’s important to take things slow in the first few days and stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water.
    In the late afternoon or evening, your guide will welcome you with traditional Tibetan gifts, provide essential travel guidance, and introduce you to your fellow group members.

    Day 6: Lhasa Tour – Drepung & Sera Monasteries (B, D)

    Start the day with a visit to Drepung Monastery, once the largest monastery in Tibet, housing over 10,000 monks at its peak. Explore the grand Coqen Hall, where your guide will delve into Tibetan Buddhist cosmology and share stories of prominent figures in Tibetan Buddhist history.
    You’ll also tour Loseling College (or an equivalent) within the monastery, gaining insight into monks’ daily practices, studies, and living conditions through a visit to their dormitories.
    In the afternoon, we’ll head to Sera Monastery, founded in 1419 and long recognized as a leading Buddhist seminary. The highlight here is witnessing the famous monk debates—lively, animated discussions that are a core part of monks’ academic and spiritual development. Your guide will explain how these debates help deepen their understanding of Buddhist teachings and advance their scholarly degrees.
    End the day with a welcome dinner, where you’ll bond with your group members over delicious cuisine. Overnight in Lhasa.

    Day 7: Lhasa Tour – Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple & Barkhor Street (B)

    After breakfast, your guide will accompany you to the majestic Potala Palace. Climb to its heights for panoramic views of Lhasa, while your guide shares tales of the successive Dalai Lamas and introduces the palace’s opulent halls, sacred relics, and priceless treasures.
    Following the Potala Palace visit, we’ll stop at Longwangtan Park at its foot—a serene spot offering a unique perspective of the palace and opportunities to engage in traditional Tibetan cultural activities.
    In the afternoon, we’ll visit Jokhang Temple—the spiritual heart of Tibet. Inside, you’ll find the revered 12-year-old statue of Shakyamuni Buddha, so lifelike it’s said to resemble the Buddha himself. Surrounding the temple is Barkhor Street, where you can join locals in a clockwise kora (pilgrimage circuit) and witness Tibetan Buddhist devotions firsthand.
    Later, your guide will take you to Lhasa’s liveliest indoor Tibetan teahouse. Sip on authentic Tibetan sweet tea with locals, and your guide will share insights into Tibetan social life and daily leisure customs. Overnight in Lhasa.

    Day 8: Lhasa → Gyantse → Shigatse (B, L)

    Leave Lhasa behind for an overland journey to Shigatse, Tibet’s second-largest city. Along the way, immerse yourself in Tibet’s stunning landscapes and catch glimpses of local villagers’ peaceful way of life.
    Our first stop is Yamdrok Lake, one of Tibet’s three sacred lakes. From the Gambala Mountain Pass (4,790m), the lake stretches like a turquoise ribbon beneath the towering Mt. Noijin Kangsang (7,191m) in the distance. Descend to the lakeshore to explore scenic viewpoints, then visit a warm local family in a nearby village for a home-cooked lunch.
    Next, we’ll pass the Karola Glacier (5,100m), a striking ice formation right beside the road—its serene beauty evokes a maiden gazing at the distant snow-capped peaks.
    Continuing toward Gyantse, we’ll make a stop at Simila Mountain Pass. Here, you can hang prayer flags to offer wishes for world peace and the well-being of your loved ones.
    Upon arriving in Gyantse, capture photos of the ancient city’s charming architecture. As we travel from Gyantse to Shigatse, admire vast fields of lush green barley (in summer) or golden crops (in autumn), dotted with traditional farms.
    Upon reaching Shigatse, check into your hotel and relax before tomorrow’s adventure to Mount Everest. Overnight in Shigatse.

    Day 9: Shigatse → Everest Base Camp (B)

    After breakfast, set off for Mount Everest. Our first viewpoint is Gyatsola Pass (5,280m), where you’ll catch your first glimpse of Everest—veiled among the mountain range like a budding lotus flower.
    Entering Mount Everest National Nature Reserve, we’ll stop at Gawula Pass (5,198m) for a panoramic view of the Himalayas. Here, you’ll witness five of the world’s highest peaks (all over 8,000 meters) standing majestically in a row—your second glimpse of Everest.
    Continue along the winding new road to Everest Base Camp (5,200m), where each turn brings you closer to the iconic peak—your third view of Everest.
    Upon arrival, the massive white pyramid-shaped summit stands before you in all its glory. As dusk falls, the setting sun bathes Everest’s northern face in warm golden light—your fourth view.
    At night, weather permitting, gaze up at the glittering Milky Way alongside Everest’s snow-white peak for a fifth and unforgettable encounter with the world’s highest mountain.
    Overnight at Everest Base Camp (in tent hotels) or a nearby village if EBC tent accommodations are closed during winter.
    Warm Tips:
    1. Everest Base Camp is located at 5,200 meters above sea level. It’s common to experience headaches or difficulty sleeping due to altitude—this is normal, so there’s no need to panic. Take it slow, relax, and enjoy the scenery; symptoms will gradually subside.
    2. Everest’s visibility depends on weather conditions and cannot be guaranteed.
    3. Tent hotels at EBC typically close from November to March. If traveling during this period, accommodation will be arranged in a nearby village.

    Day 10: Everest Base Camp → Gyirong Border

    Today, journey from Everest Base Camp to the Sino-Nepal Gyirong Port, soaking in the incredible changing landscapes along the way.
    Before departing EBC, witness the graceful sunrise over Mount Everest, then hike to Rongbuk Monastery (5,154 meters)—the world’s highest monastery. This Nyingma sect monastery sits in close proximity to Everest and is unique for housing both monks and nuns.
    Continue traversing the Himalayas toward Gyirong Port (2,800 meters). The long road takes you from the high plateau to a lower valley, passing iconic landmarks like Shishapangma Peak (8,027 meters) and the serene Lake Paiku Tso. As you descend into the Himalayan foothills, the scenery transforms—dense forests, cascading waterfalls, and deep gorges captivate your senses.
    Upon reaching Gyirong Valley, behold lush forests with snow-capped peaks towering above. In Gyirong Town, breathe in the oxygen-rich air of the lowland forests as you bid farewell to Tibet.
    Travel Tip: Breakfast is not included in your EBC accommodation—please prepare to cover the cost of breakfast on your own today.

    Day 11: Gyirong Border → Kathmandu (B)

    In the morning, bid farewell to your Tibetan guide and driver. Our Nepali staff will welcome you at the border checkpoint, assist with arranging large luggage handling (additional fee applies), support you with Nepali visa procedures, and ensure a safe transfer to your Kathmandu hotel via private car.
    From the border, travel through the southern foothills of the Himalayas and Langtang National Forest. After entering Nepal, admire a lineup of snow-capped peaks, including Gaurishankar Himal (7,134 meters), Ganesh Himal (7,422 meters), Annapurna III (7,555 meters), Lamjung W (6,983 meters), Mount Kanguru (6,981 meters), Himchuli West (6,441 meters), Ngadi Chuli (7,871 meters), and Gaurishankar (7,181 meters).
    Due to challenging road conditions, there will be limited stops, but you’ll be treated to nonstop breathtaking views—one final gift from the Himalayas. After completing the 130-kilometer journey, you’ll arrive at your Kathmandu hotel.

    Nepal Visa Application Tips

    1. Prepare one passport-size photo with a white background.
    2. The Nepal visa fee is payable in cash (US dollars only; credit cards are not accepted) at the border.

    Day 12: Departure from Kathmandu – Tour Conclusion (B)

    After breakfast, your guide will transfer you to Kathmandu Airport and assist with your departure. Please confirm your flight details with your guide in advance to ensure a smooth journey.
