Day 1: Beijing → Zhengzhou → Shaolin Temple → Yuntai Mountain (L, D)
Morning: Depart Beijing for Zhengzhou
Your private driver will pick you up from your Beijing hotel lobby and transfer you to Beijing West Railway Station. Board a morning high-speed bullet train to Zhengzhou, with a smooth 2.5-hour journey ahead.
Note: You will travel independently on the train. Your local English-speaking guide will meet you in Zhengzhou.
Midday: Arrive in Zhengzhou & Head to Shaolin Temple
Upon arrival in Zhengzhou, meet your friendly local guide. Then, travel directly to Shaolin Temple and enjoy a delicious local lunch before your exploration begins.
Afternoon: Explore Shaolin Temple & Pagoda Forest
Kick off your tour with a thrilling highlight: watch an authentic Kung Fu performance by Shaolin monks. Feel the power and grace of this ancient martial art in its birthplace.
Next, wander through the temple grounds with your knowledgeable guide. Learn about its rich histories, cultural significance, and spiritual stories. Don’t miss the Pagoda Forest nearby. This sacred site is home to over 240 tomb pagodas of eminent monks and abbots. Dating from the Tang to Qing dynasties (618–1911), it is the largest pagoda forest in China.
Historical Snapshot (Shaolin Temple): Founded in 495 A.D., this UNESCO World Heritage Site is the birthplace of Chinese Kung Fu and the cradle of Chan Buddhism.
Evening: Travel to Yuntai Mountain
After exploring Shaolin Temple, head to Yuntai Mountain (approximately a 2-hour drive). Check into your included accommodation and enjoy a complimentary dinner to end your day.
Day 2: Yuntai Mountain → Zhengzhou / Beijing (B, L)
Morning: Explore Yuntai Mountain’s Natural Wonders
Start your day with a hearty breakfast at your hotel. Then, dive into the beauty of Yuntai Mountain, a UNESCO World Geologic Park renowned for its breathtaking natural scenery.
Marvel at towering mountains, dramatic gorges, lush forests, and a network of waterfalls, springs, brooks, and lakes. Walk across the iconic glass bridge – almost entirely transparent, it offers a thrilling 360° view of the mountains below. You’ll also feel the area’s rich cultural heritage, such as the Baijia Cliff where the Seven Sages of the Wei and Jin Dynasties lived for over 20 years.
Yuntai Mountain has 11 scenic spots, including Red Stone Valley, Tanpu Valley, and Zhuyu Peak. It’s impossible to visit all in one day, so your guide will offer personalized suggestions. Choose 1–2 spots to explore at your own pace.

Afternoon: Depart Yuntai Mountain
After your tour, enjoy a tasty local lunch. Then, choose your end destination:
- Option 1: End in Zhengzhou – Be transferred back to your independently booked hotel in Zhengzhou.
- Option 2: Return to Beijing – Take an evening high-speed bullet train back to Beijing (3-hour journey). Upon arrival at Beijing West Railway Station, your private driver will pick you up and transfer you to your independently booked hotel in Beijing.
Important Note
You will travel independently on the bullet train both ways. Your local English-speaking guide will meet you in Zhengzhou and accompany you throughout your explorations of Shaolin Temple and Yuntai Mountain.
