    Welcome to Tibet, the legendary “Roof of the World”! Upon your arrival at Lhasa Gonggar Airport or Lhasa Railway Station, our dedicated tour guide will be waiting to greet you. You’ll be transferred to a comfortable downtown hotel, where you’ll spend the night to acclimatize to the high altitude. We recommend taking the day at a relaxed pace: avoid strenuous activities, drink plenty of water, and let your body gradually adjust to the thinner air.

    Important Note: Altitude acclimatization on the first day is crucial to ensuring your health and comfort for the rest of the tour. Please prioritize rest and hydration to minimize potential altitude sickness.

    Day 2: Lhasa Iconic Highlights Tour [B] + [D]

    Kick off your day with a visit to the Potala Palace – a UNESCO World Heritage Site and Lhasa’s most iconic landmark. Perched at 3,700 meters above sea level, this architectural marvel is celebrated as one of the world’s greatest wonders, boasting lavish interiors, priceless relics, and panoramic views of the city. In the afternoon, explore Jokhang Temple, Tibet’s most sacred religious site, where the air is thick with the scent of incense and yak butter. Witness devout pilgrims performing prostrations outside the temple, a powerful display of faith, and admire the temple’s unique blend of Tibetan, Chinese, and Nepalese architectural styles.

    In the afternoon, head to Sera Monastery (founded in 1419) to witness the famous “Buddhist Sutra Debate” – a lively, rhythmic exchange of philosophical ideas between monks. Held daily at 3:00 PM (except Sundays), this unique cultural experience offers a fascinating glimpse into Tibetan monastic life and learning.
