Your exploration begins with a visit to the famous fashion shopping street —Nanaluoguxiang hutong–one of downtown Beijing’s best preserved hutongs. With its grey-walled courtyard homes, it offers a real taste of traditional city life.
Nanluoguxiang has become a hotspot of attraction reported by Fashion magazine. Tourists from abroad regard it as a must-see attraction in Beijing. With a length of 800meters (2624 ft), Nanluoguxiang has 16 Hutongs running across from south to north; 8 in the east and 8 in the west. Lots of officials and celebs have been lived here since Ming (1368-1644) and Qing Dynasty (1636-1911). Historical marks can be found in every Hutong here. Nanluoguxiang is among the first 25 areas listed as historical sites by Beijing Municipal Government in 1990. With its impressive historical reputation and cultural influences, Nanluoguxiang has become a popular attraction in Beijing
To the Drum Tower,Watch the Drum beaten performance(the last performance is at 4:50pm) at the Drum tower,then take the rickshaw to explore the local allays,you will visit a local family to see the courtyard as well.Bell tower have an interesting teahouse, if you want to learn the tea culture this is an option
The Drum Tower was built in 1272 during the reign of Kublai Khan, at which time it stood at eh very heart of the Yuan capital Dadu. At that time it was known as the Tower of Orderly Administration (Qizhenglou). In 1420, under the Ming Emperor Yongle, the building was reconstructed to the east f the original site and in 1800 under the Qing Emperor Jiaqing, large-scale renovations were carried out. In 1924, the name of the building was changed to the Tower of Realizing Shamefulness (Mingchilou) and objects related tot eh Eight-Power Allied Forces’ invasion of Beijing and later the May 30th Massacre of 1925 were put on display. Nowadays, the upper story of the building serves as the People’s Cultural Hall of the East City District.

The walking tour only with the English speaking guide,the guide can meet you in your downtown hotel’s lobby,then you either taxi or subway to the start point–Nanluoguxiang hutong,please pay your own transportation,and entrance fee to all the sites if you require to go inside the site,otherwise the walking tour only passby the sites
The Tour is around 4 hours,if you want to extend the tour after 4.5 hours,it is 100rmb (15 USD)per hour for our English speaking Tour guide and 100rmb (15USD)for the driver
The rickshaw driver wish to get tips, 10 yuan p/p is ok
