Day 1

Lanzhou-Beijing –Tian’anmen Square–Forbidden city– Houhai Lake(L)

1 Lanzhou Zhongchuan Airport

Your driver will hold your name sign waiting for you in the lobby of your Lanzhou hotel, you will be transferred to airport for a 2-hour flight to Beijing.

2 Tiananmen Square (Tiananmen Guangchang)

Upon arrival, your tour guide will hold your name sign waiting at the exit of the arrival hall, hope on your private vehicle, heading directly to Tian’anmen Square. Tian’anmen square is the world’s largest public square, it is the home to the National Museum of China, the mausoleum of Mao Zedong and the great Monument to the Peoples’ Heroes. Follow your tour guide, stroll along the square and get to know the histories and stories behind.

3 Forbidden City-The Palace Museum

From there you will pass through the South gate to the magnificent Forbidden City – a 250-acre complex of courtyards, palaces, pavilions and gardens, which served as the imperial palace for emperors and their households for more than 500 years. The Forbidden City was declared a World Heritage Site in 1987.

4 The Imperial Garden of The Palace Museum

See ancient treasures from thousands of years of history and admire the maze of palaces, gardens and stunning courtyards as your guide informs you about their histories and stories. Your tour will end from the north gate of the Forbidden city.

5 Back Lakes (Hou Hai)

Enjoy lunch in the local restaurant. Then, move to the Back lakes area, to enjoy beautiful lake and surroundings.

6 Yandai Xie Street

Stroll around the Yandai Xie Street with your tour guide to shop for your souvenirs, your tour guide will teach you how to negotiate price.

7 Nanluoguxiang

Move on to Nanluoguxiang allay, to learn the traditional Hutong area and its history. After the tour finished, you will be transferred to your hotel.

Day 2

Beijing: Great Wall at Mutianyu– Olympic Park- Drum and Bell Tower (B, L) 

1 Mutianyu Great Wall

Your driver and tour guide will meet you at the hotel lobby at 8:30am for departure to the Mutianyu section of the Great Wall.relax on the 1.5 hours’ drive to Mutianyu section of the Great Wall. Mutianyu Great Wall more rugged and slightly less crowded than more famous Badaling section of the Wall. Over 96% of Mutianyu is covered with trees and orchards. Follow your tour guide to hike up and down different towers and enjoy the convenient way of cable car round trip, or toboggan ride at the wall.

2 Olympic Park

Enjoy lunch in the local restaurant, then you will drive pass by the Olympic Park and stop for photos. Beijing Olympic Park is where the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games and Paralympics took place. The two famous stadiums are –The Water Cube and The Bird’s Nest, The Bird’s Nest was the main venue of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, when it had a capacity of 91 000 spectators.

3 Bell and Drum Towers

Afterwards, you will stop at the Beijing Bell and Drum Towers, go up to the tower to watch the drum beaten performance, then stroll along the Hutong allays in this area to check out the local’s living life. After the tour, you will be transferred back to your hotel in Beijing.

Day 3

Beijing: Temple of Heaven– Pearl Market – Summer Palace (B,L)

1 Temple of Heaven

The driver and tour guide will meet you at your hotel lobby at 8:30am, today your exploration begins with the Temple of Heaven, once visited by the emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties for annual prayer ceremonies. Follow your tour guide to stroll around the park to check out the local retired people’s daily life in the park and get to know the histories and stories about the temple.

2 Pearl Market (Hongqiao Market)

If you want to purchase some souvenirs, you will stop at the Silk or Pearl market for some free time shopping, your tour guide will teach you how to negotiate price.

3 Summer Palace (Yiheyuan)

After lunch in the local restaurant, heading to the Summer Palace. The Summer Palace in Beijing – first built in 1750, largely destroyed in the war of 1860 and restored on its original foundations in 1886 – is a masterpiece of Chinese landscape garden design. The natural landscape of hills and open water is combined with artificial features such as pavilions, halls, palaces, temples and bridges to form a harmonious ensemble of outstanding aesthetic value. The Summer Palace combined political and administrative, residential, spiritual, and recreational functions within a landscape of lakes and mountains, in accordance with the Chinese philosophy of balancing the works of man with nature.
